Milos island is definitely one of the most beautiful Greek islands which attracts many tourists. As part of Cyclades complex, Milos is full of blue and white, with many beautiful alleys, idyllic landscapes and breathtaking beaches. It was my second time in Milos and it still remains my favorite island. It combines wonderful beaches and beautiful views.

Beaches on Milos Island
The most famous beach of Milos and surely the most particular one is Sarakiniko beach. The area is often compared to a moonscape because of its volcanic rocks. There is a tiny beach that is full of white sand and a high spot that’s ideal for a dip for those who love a rush of adrenaline.

Fyriplaka is the perfect beach to go to on the days when the northern wind blows, as here you will find shelter from it. The cliffs around it will amaze you with their incredible variety of colours. There is a beach bar where you can grab yourself some water and snacks but I would recommend to enjoy the beach and the landscape away from the crowd.

Papafragas is one of the most impressive sites of Milos island. From the top of the rock, it resembles a huge natural swimming pool, an enormous cave carved out of the cliff’s side. A tiny path leads to the tiny and calm sand beach of Papafragas. You need to go there early in the morning to avoid the crowd because the beach is too tiny – however it is a must.

Tsigrado is a small sandy cove with crystal water. However, going down this beach is a bit difficult as visitors have to pass through a rocky passage to get there. You need sports shoes to reach the beach safely but the landscape is worth the difficulty.

Areas
Some of the most beautiful areas in Milos except for the port and Chora with the hundreds of beautiful tiny alleys are Pollonia, Klima and Trypiti.

Pollonia is a small port where you can catch a ferry to visit the opposite island Kimolos and tavernas to enjoy some seafood.
Agios Nikolaos church is a must visit.

Klima is a fishing village full of colourful houses that will remind you of Little Venice in Mykonos.

Trypiti is a small village where you can admire the sunset while drinking a cocktail at one of the coffee bars.
