The amazing Portokali beach (Kavourotripes/Kavourotrypes) is also known by its more known name Orange beach. Depending on the weather and time of day, the colour of the crystal clear water is usually a dark hue of green-blue. This is one of the Greece beaches which most definitely is worth a visit if you are in Sithonia, Halkidiki. Do try to get to this popular beach as early as you can. In case you arrive there after 10:30am – 11:00am, you’ll be lucky to get a sunbed and parasol. Orange beach is very popular with tourists so it can get very crowded. The beach’s main sandy area is not the only area you can sit and enjoy the views. There are several big rocks around and you will find people laying down their towels or beach mats there too.

To the left of the main area of Orange beach is another smaller beach which is just as beautiful. You will see it if you get up on the rocks on the left to take pictures or explore the area. You can easily spend an hour up there just taking pictures and enjoying the view. To the right of the beach, you will find a few more white rocks where some people prefer to sit and swim. There is a small part on that side for nudists as well.

Walking down to the beach from the car park takes less than a minute. Do however be careful, it can get very slippery. The road down to Orange beach has some sand and gravel and you can easily loose your balance. You will find there is a beach bar with plenty of food and drink on their menu. The guys there are running on a generator so they don’t offer Wi-Fi, not a big deal, the beach is the perfect place to relax. This by far is one of my favourite beaches in Halkidiki.
